Egypt Takes Top Spot in Global Atomic Quiz 2023 as Media Waves Oversees International Competition
Media Waves supervised the Global Atomic Quiz 2023, organized by Rosatom in celebration of World Science Day, drawing 10,000 participants from over 60 countries worldwide.
Egypt claimed first place globally in participant numbers—a clear indication of growing public interest in the peaceful applications of nuclear energy.
The 24-hour online competition ran alongside in-person events across 17 international platforms, including two dedicated sessions in Egypt targeting high school students and energy-focused journalists. This year’s edition was available in 13 languages and featured an innovative AI challenge component, reflecting the evolution of global science education methods.
Global Atomic Quiz is an international educational initiative designed to deepen young people’s understanding of nuclear energy’s role in sustainable development and climate protection—building a generation informed about the future of clean energy worldwide.
